SINGAPORE - As of 8 July, Singapore Oxygen Air Liquide Private Limited (SOXAL) is renamed as Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited.
This name change will let us present ourselves as a full-fledged subsidiary of the global Air Liquide group. Along with this change in company name, the abbreviated name of the company will be ALSg.
Air Liquide first entered Singapore in 1911, operating as “Far East Oxygen & Acetylene Co. Ltd”. In 1975, the company formed a joint venture with British Oxygen Corp., which led to the formation of Singapore Oxygen Air Liquide Private Limited (SOXAL). In 2007, SOXAL became a fully owned subsidiary of Air Liquide once again. This latest name change is the final step in the rebrand strategy to align the Singapore representation with the globally-recognised Air Liquide brand, which is synonymous with high-quality, reliable products and the global market leader in the industry.
Since its early inception, Air Liquide in Singapore has grown in tandem with the island city-state, supporting its changing economic landscape. From a single factory, Air Liquide Singapore has grown into a complex of air separation plants and gas production facilities at over 22 locations around Singapore. AL Singapore now comprises four subsidiaries and joint venture companies, making us the largest gas provider in the region.
Through this change, we will endeavour to create another lasting success story as we leverage on Air Liquide’s global network of resources and expertise.
