Air Liquide Australia inaugurates its Carbon Dioxide Capture Plant in Torrens Island

Air Liquide Australia recently inaugurated its Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Capture Plant in Torrens Island on 26th May 2017, in the presence of the Treasurer and Minister of Industry and Energy of South Australia, Mr Tom Koutsantonis and CEO & Managing Director of AGL Energy, Mr Andrew Vesey. 

This CO2 Capture Plant, which took more than 100,000 safe man-hours to complete, will capture up to 50,000 tonnes per year of carbon dioxide emitted by AGL Energy’s power plant, located in Torrens Island, Adelaide, South Australia. The CO2 produced by the power plant is captured and processed into various grades for our South Australian customers.

With this plant, Air Liquide Australia strengthens its leadership position in the CO2 market, enhances its  supply reliability and contributes to its sustainability objectives.
